In 2014, he and his girlfriend (turned wife) stepped into their next chapter and moved in together. Freddy wanted to make his mark on his new shared home, so naturally, he looked towards plants. His research brought him to ‘half-decent’ online garden centres, and nothing quite satisfied his longing for the answer to what plant would be “right for our small, east-facing balcony”?

When he took off to a garden centre, far outside of London, he found himself clueless as to what would be right for him and his plant paradise. Supermarket plants also wouldn’t cut it, so that’s when he grabbed some books and tried to learn more about how to curate his indoor garden. He further realised that he wasn’t alone in this shared frustration, so Patch was born in December 2015.

With six years in brand consulting, working with the likes of Cancer Research UK and Jamie Oliver to build engaged communities, it’s no wonder he’s been able to nail the incredible brand, Patch. Their clear value proposition revolves around “inspiration, convenience and confidence” as they aim to make plant decisions, purchases and delivery easy for city dwellers.
